Welcome to Lavender Ink Books.
I’m Aimee Pearson, and I created Lavender Ink Books to fulfill a childhood dream: to create the kind of children’s books I loved so much growing up—the ones I wanted to read again and again.
Books like Paul Galdone’s The Little Red Hen and Dorothy Grider’s Peppermint captured my imagination because they gave animals voices, relatable personalities, and wonderfully human qualities. That kind of storytelling has stayed with me ever since. So, when it came time to share my own stories, I decided that instead of handing them over to a publishing house, I would do it myself. And just like the industrious and self-reliant Little Red Hen, I did!
Through Lavender Ink Books, I hope to share what we all know as children—but sometimes forget as adults: that chickens can cook elaborate dinners, rivers tell stories, and something extraordinary can always be found in the ordinary.
